When I opened your E-mail posted on QUAKER-ROOTSWEB.COM and saw the name Judith Heald it "RANG A BELL". A few years ago my son and I spent some time in PA (USA) visiting our Quaker Meeting Houses and Judith Walter Heald was connected with the LONDON GROVE MEETING at Kennett Square, PA. Believe she was the Clerk at that time but someone else is now listed on their website. I still have an active E-mail address for Judith and her mailing address in Spring Mills, PA. We have traced our paper trail from Quaker records all the way back to my 6X grandfather, Jacob Marshill, Sr. ca.1655-1743 whose family were members of the UPPER GRANGE MEETING near Charlemont in Nothern Ireland. This meeting house was founded in 1660 and still has an active membership today of 40-50. My son has made many trips to Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland doing research on our family and I have been on trips with him to both Ireland and England. WE ARE "GRAPPLING AT STRAWS" to get any Marshall that has traced his family back to the BRITISH ISLES DNA tested to see if we have any connection. We had a 100 year old Marshall tested a few years ago in Ireland that his father told him they came from Scotland ------------BUT NO CONNECTION. HOWEVER, IF YOU KNOW OF ANY PRESENT DAY MARSHALL'S THAT CAN PROVE THEIR ANCESTRY BACK TO ENGLAND OR WALES. WE WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY FOR THEM TO GET A Y-DNA TEST-----(Of course their ancestors would have to be male Marshalls all the way back and their lineage not broken by a female for the Y-DNA TEST.) There is a particular Lamplugh Quaker Dickinson/Taylor connection with Talbot County Maryland. There is also the partnership between the early ministers James Dickinson and Thomas Wilson (who travelled around America c1700).
