While we're on the subject....did Gabriel Chappell marry Lydia ALBERTSON or Lydia OVERMAN about 1802 in NC...probably Pasquotank or Perquimans? Thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me! p.s....I'm related to half of Chowan and Perquimans Counties and some of Pasquotank and Gates....many of them being Quakers.

According to my info (from Hinshaw), Gabriel Chappell married Lydia Overman, probably in 1803, Lydia Overman, d/o John & Caroline Munden Overman. They were not married in the Meeting--possibly because membership was not in good standing at that time, or maybe they just went off and got married without asking for it to be approved by the Meeting. Later they were reinstated and became members of Sutton's Creek MM. Their children are listed there.
