How do I obtain membership in Descendants of Quakers Society? Jay
Do not know there was such a Society. Would be very interested in that answer. I have so many Quakers in my lines. I would be interested in an answer....I did look at the post from the archives -as mentioned by another reply--but the info was very outdated and i would venture to guess a newer address would be needed???? --- On Wed, 4/1/09, Claude Rutan <[email protected]> wrote: From: Claude Rutan <[email protected]> Subject: [Q-R] Membership in the Quakers society To: [email protected] Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2009, 1:56 PM How do I obtain membership in Descendants of Quakers Society? I am a member of The Descendants of Early Quakers, and I wonder if this is the organization some of you were wondering about? They meet only once a year, at a "tea" with a speaker, held in Washington D.C. in April (it used to be April, but might have been changed to July as some of the lineage organizations have done the past few years). If Google does not supply a lead using "Descendants of Early Quakers" I can try to find a name and address to make an enquiry to. I do think it is nice to honor the memory of our early ancestors who were members of the Society of Friends, and the sacrifices so many made in order to be true to their beliefs in a closer connectiion between the individual and his/her God (closer than was the idea of other religions of the time, and especially the Church of England).
