    3. I also have Maris, Parke, Holladay, Moon, Grubb, Beeson, and Miller... Is this your James Lindley d. 10-13-1726? After his death, his widow, Eleanor (Parke) Lindley married Henry Jones, b. abt. 1696, son of Francis and Rachel (Newton) Jones. The surname Lindley resurfaces several generations later with Isaac Lindley Taylor, son of Lewis and Martha Ann (Stubbs) Taylor. 1. Re: [Q-R] My Quaker ancestors

    3. Thanks, Joy. According to Jones (1951), Eleanor b. 1-2-1684, daughter of Robert and Margery Parke, married "17th day of ye 10th month" (p. 22) in 1730, at Londongrove MM, Londongrove Township, Chester County, PA although the ceremony is recorded in the New Garden MM (Marriage R. S. 675 pp 69 1/2). In addition it appears Henry and Eleanor transferred to East Nottingham MM in 1739 but also "were regular members of the Deer Creek Meeting that was part of the East Nottingham M. M." (p. 24). To your question regarding Eleanor's date of death, Jones (1951) speculates considerably through several pages recounting research and correspondence as to the date and locale of Henry and Eleanor, and in summary suggests they may have died in Maryland by 1750, e.g., a Henry Jones was disowned 7-22-1750 by Nottingham MM of the Deer Creek (Maryland) MM. Source: Jones, C. B. (1951). Jones and related families. Marcellus, Michigan. Private.
