So far now luck. So I was hoping maybe on of you might have another source I could check out. We are pretty sure he was from that area and I know he was a Quaker in the colonies, settling in NC. I have found Motes and Teagues in Bush River, SC MM who moved to Ohio and I am trying to connect them to the Motes and Teagues in Gwinnett Co, Georgia.  I know my Teagues came from Laurens Co, SC and my Mote was William Mote from Warren Co. Ga.  His son, Joseph married ELizabeth Barton.  Any help would be appreciated.   Sandy

Can anyone explain why, other than just "business" reasons, a Friend would be granted multiple certificates to move back and forth between two meetings within a relatively short amount of time? It doesn't appear that the family's are accompanying with each move, at least the abstracts don't reflect that. The meetings are Warrington Meeting in York Co., Pa. and Menallen Meeting in Adams Co., Pa., about 15 miles apart. Thanks Bob Cooke

Friends moving west before the Civil War avoided Kentucky because it was a slave state. The dates are May 2 - 5, Thurs through Sunday, 2013. Please mark your calendars and make plans to come! Along with our previously known Bush River contacts, we have expanded our mailing list to include many of the Union County Quaker researchers and descendants that we haven't had a chance to meet yet. We hope that they'll join us in planning, implementing, and participating in this Homecoming.     3. That was an impressively fast answer to a question. I have been looking for the date of death and burial place for Thomas Townsend born abt 1805-1810 in Indiana married to Mary Hastings. He is last seen in the Iowa census for 1860. HEQG, Vol. IV, On page 174 / 175, Lynn Grove MM (Lynnville) established 1857 in Jasper County set-off from Spring Creek MM Phebe and WIlliam were charter members. William born 1-20-1799 died 10-15-1872 buried LG, Iowa w Phebe b. 6-10-1801 died 1-5-1883 ch: Seth b. 11-241`835 Jesse b. 6-21-1842 Esther b 3-25-1844 The original records should be in the Iowa Yearly Meeting vault in Oskaloosa, Iowa and probably have been microfilmed. Since their death dates are mentioned in the extractions they would be also in the original death records.
