Michelle, Yes, I have a Sara Chalfant and I had written (in pencil--meaning "no proof") that she married an Isaac Pyle. This Sara was the sister of my ancestor, Chads Chalfant, and therefore would have been the daughter of Robert Chalfant II and Sara Chadds Cloud. However, her birth dates don't seem quite right if he was born in 1777. Certainly the Pyles intermarried with our Clouds and Chadds--all in Chester Co. ie a William Pyle married Betty (Elizabeth) Chadds, sister to the above Sarah Chadds Cloud. I did a little research on these people after I sent the message and they all seem to be Quaker and found in Hinshaw....the Goodwins seem to have come from Perquimans, and the others from Pa via Hopewell or some place other than Perquimans. I was hoping that they would all be from the Guilford County area as I was hoping that my Edward Thomas would have been this man....but even as I write this it hits me that I believe him to have been near Bush River in SC in the mid 1700's and to have moved to North Carolina by the late 1700's. I have always assumed Guilford County.....but it could have been Perquimans or somewhere else just as easily. I won't throw out my Perquimans books yet.....marsha in WV marsha moses wrote: > I was reading the History of Warren county Ohio by the Publishing > Company Beers today. I was reading the History of Warren county Ohio by the Publishing Company Beers today. In it there is a list of men who arrive in Wayne Township in 1807. Here is the list: Edward Thomas, David Faulkner, Isaac Haskil, Jonathan Crispin, and Nathan and Richared Goodwin. Is there anyone on this list who recognizes any of these men or their families? Or why they may have arrive in 1807. Or even more importantly where they are likely to have lived before arriving in Wayne Township? Marsha in Wv
I am searching for info. on my fourth great grandfather, Isaac Janney. He was born in Pa. son of William and Elizabeth Moon Janney. He married a lady named Hannah. I know that Isaac was a Quaker but, Hannah was not. They married in 1771.I would like to know if Hannah became a Quaker. I do know that at some time they moved to Franklin County, VA. where they had a large family. ANY INFORMATION ON THIS FAMILY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

No guarantees & it is not proof but the Family Group Sheets that I have in the Quaker Collection represent the best current thinking of a number of advanced Cox Family researchers. According to my Quaker Cox database, the Rebecca Cox in whom you are interested was the dau of Richard Cox (b.ca.1686) & Elizabeth Scarlett. The younger man Richard Cox (b.ca.1750) unfortunately omitted from your query was Rebecca's cousin, the son of Thomas Cox & 2nd wife Mary Cook, and he married Ann Hodgin at Wrightsborough MM,GA in 1774. Richard Cox, son of William & Amy http://home.sprynet.com/~jrichmon/cox0698.htm Thomas Cox, son of William & Amy http://home.sprynet.com/~jrichmon/cox0252.htm father of the younger Richard Cox of York co,PA John Cox (b.ca.1666, Drayton, Berkshire) & wife Rachel came to Newark MM, New Castle co,DE in 1708. They did not have a son Thomas. Their children were these: [1] John Cox Jr (b.ca.1686) marr. 1720 Hannah Jenkins [2] Richard Cox (b.ca.1690) marr. 1712 [1] Margaret Potts marr. ca.1729 [2] Mary ---- [3] Joseph Cox (b.ca.1692) marr. ca.1716 Maria Vanderveer [4] Sarah Cox (b.ca.1694) marr. ca.1712 Richard Leech Some of this data is based on the published research of William B Fetters which was discussed at some length, several years ago on Q-R. Unfortunately for a good many years, many researchers attributed every Cox in sight as the offspring of John & Rachel with little or no substantive proof or research. Tom and Wendy- The Miami, Warren County, Ohio MM records show the following for Hulduh KIGER: 1840, 4th month, 22nd day, Huldah con mou (H). This would have been the result of her marriage to Jacob N. KIGER. That is the only record I was able to find for Huldah (JESSUP) KIGER. There are probable Quakers in several of my family lines but these are the ones I'm sure of: Nathaniel Mounticue b.abt.1785 married Elizabeth Boon b.abt.1782. They married Feb.28, 1809 in Caroline Cnty, MD and moved to Donegal Twp area of PA. I hope to connect to someone also searching these surnames. _________________________________________________________________ Dont just search. Find. "I would very much like to know where the documentation is for the finding of Ann Garrett married to Swithin Chandler. I have researched them a lot this summer and have not come across a record of marriage. Did you find something that documents their marriage and if so what is it and how do you know that Thomas Garrett was her father?" To answer this, I have the Administration documents of Thomas Garrett Jr., dated 1710, Oct 19. The administration of his estate was granted to Swithin Chandler AND HIS WIFE ANN. She is mentioned twice in the document, and surely wouldn't have been mentioned at all unless she was kin (in this case, Sister) of the deceased. The document was signed by Swithin Chandler, James Baylyss & Samal Chandler. This is enough to convince me. You decide. Carol

Thanks to the folks that sent info to Martha re Christiana Hundred -- I know what I'll be doing tonight! <G> I just have to say this ---Martha dear -- "easy and accurate" are two words not found too often with "Quaker" or genealogy, for that matter. <GGG> Terri
Do you have even approximate dates for these people? I think that I may know where they fit. Tom Hamm > I am researching Jacob N. I would very much like to know where the documentation is for the finding of Ann Garrett married to Swithin Chandler. I have researched them a lot this summer and have not come across a record of marriage. Did you find something that documents their marriage and if so what is it and how do you know that Thomas Garrett was her father?
