    3. Sue Maxwell: Do a basic SEARCh for "Nantaucket Historical Society" with your favorite search engine. The Library has a lot of Family Research charts. Sorry but this relatively new computer is "Lazy" & not working right or I would get you the URLs. Family charts will be under Mrs. Baraney's Genealogies -- The original copy was handwritten and are beautiful. I have some of the Coffin Family -- these genealogies is to be found in the Library. My husband and I have taken a vacation trip to Massachuttes with our son, Jeff; and I have gone a 2nd time with Jeff. Jeff now owns property there somewhere, but not on Nantuacket proper but rather on Cape Cod & about 2 miles from the ocean. 3. There are 2 volumes of "Nantucket Quaker Genealogy", Vol. I & Vol. II published in 1990 by Robert J. Leach. They are mimeographed pages of his hand-written notes tracing Nantucket Quaker families. There are many books on Nantucket and it early settlers--such as: "History of Nantucket" by Alexander Starbuck, 1924 "Genealogy of the Macy Family" by Silvanus Macy, 1868 "Nantucket" by William Oliver Stevens 1947 "The Early Settlers of Nantucket 1659-1850" , Lydia S. So I cannot comment on individual ancestors you name. That said, I recognize that Adrian Monthly Meeting [MM], now named Raisin Valley MM, in Lenawee County was the parent of several MMs in Adrian Quarterly Meeting [QM] in what is today named Evangelical Friends Church, Eastern Region. Adrian MM may have held the memberships you seek before other Lenawee-County MMs were set off as independent meetings. Adrian QM had several monthly meetings that should have vital records available either in Ann & Conrad Burton's 1989 genealogy book _Michigan Quakers, Abstracts of Fifteen Meetings of The Society Of Friends 1831-1960_ or directly in the original records, many of which were microfilmed by the Mormons and could be reviewed at a Family History Center available at most local LDS churches. In fact, the Burtons' book is available at many libraries and may also be available through the Family History Centers. http://www.worldcat.org/wcpa/oclc/21275648 The meeting details, including LDS microfilm numbers and some Burton page references, are available in my database at: Lenawee County meetings: http://www.quakermeetings.com/search_display?County=Lenawee Lupton MM in Ogemaw County: http://www.quakermeetings.com/meeting_view?anID=TST1074L Rollin MM, including the Addison (originally Woodstock) local meeting: http://www.quakermeetings.com/meeting_view?anID=TST1602L All Adrian QM meetings: http://www.quakermeetings.com/search_display?generalSearchWord=Adrian+Q Tom Thomas C. 3. I have now finished putting the Birth section of the Society of Friends Register for Pardshaw [TNA RG6 1026] online at: http://www.rumbutter.net/gen-cumb-res-pard-home/ [you will need to register or log in] Pardshaw in Cumberland was one the largest Quaker communities in England, between Swarthmoor to the south and Holm Cultram to the north. This register covers the central area of the community (equivalent approximately to the C of E parishes of Brigham, Dean, Lamplugh and Loweswater). It includes the meeting house/place at Pardshaw and Pardshaw Crag and the burial grounds at Eaglesfield and Greysouthen; but not other meetings. It is the original home for many Quakers who went to Ireland or to the American colonies. The online register consists of images provided by permission of The National Archives. Only some pages have been transcribed [so only those will turn up in the site's search engines], but volunteers who want to transcribe are always welcome. Simply add your transcription as a comment on the relevant page - this will automatically get into the search engine. Rum Butter is my personal blog site. It includes a member-only section about Cumberland (also accessible as http://www.cumberland.info). This is free and non-commercial; but, in order to access the Cumberland contents, you will need to register. Chris Dickinson

He also includes some from meetings just over the line into another state, which were affiliated with Indiana Meetings. In Vol. 5 of his " ....Records of the Society of Friends in Indiana" there is a lot of birth/death/minutes information from Vermillion Meeting, which was located in Vermillion Co, Illinois. He also has info listed in the same volume from Hopewell Meeting, which is in Vermillion Co, Indiana, and from Honey Creek Meeting in Vigo Co, IN. These Meetings, in a small geographical area, seemed to overlap and interact as they were set up, set off, etc. My guess is you would find families that are listed in more than one of these meetings. Hopefully Tom Hill or Dan Treadway will fill us in on why Elwood is not listed in Williard's books of records--maybe it is just because he never found/or was given access to the Elwood Meeting minutes. Some should exist since apparently the Meeting still exists. 3. I was not familiar with the Elwood Meeting/cemetery, so looked to see if I could find anything about it in Willard Heiss' published info of the records of Friends Meetings (mostly) in Indiana. 3. My husband and I are reading cemeteries for our local Genealogy Society and one is Elwood Church cemetery.  It is next to the church a few miles out of the town of Georgetown in Vermilion County Illinois.  The stones are in terrible shape and most beyond reading.  If there are any of you out there who have family buried in this cemetery, would you please let me know.  He has taken a picture of the church that is exceptionally good.  I would be happy to send it on line to anyone who would like to have a copy. 1. Re: [Q-R] Rachel NEWLIN
    2. I don't know whether this is of interest to you or not, but several years ago I transcribed and posted a deed for the sale of land in Salem County, NJ, which had been owned by Amesley NEWLIN of Chester County, PA, and his wife Elizabeth (nee WOODNUTT) who had inherited the land from her father Preston WOODNUTT. The land was sold to my great-great-grandfather Joseph ROBINSON. All parties to this deed were Quakers. The deed can be found here: << http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newjersey.counties.salem/822/mb.ashx >> Joan In a message dated 2/24/2009 4:27:47 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: There's a lot more NEWLIN info in this book but no more mention of Ephraim and Rachel (Newlin) JACKSON.
