Hi Henry Oddie and Sue Christou, glad to have you with us, Can't believe it is 2 years since we were in contact Henry! Have you found anyway of tying up your Burtons with the Burtons in Dent specifically John Burton born 1768 to Richard Burton and Ann Winn where Richard b. 1716 was the brother of my Isabel Burton b.1710 later Binns. Is this John Burton the Surgeon born about 1769 who is buried in Crawshawbooth along with lots of other Burtons? From what I remember this John is mentioned in John Gill's poetry book that you have Sue, and his son Jonathan wrote one of the poems although the others were by your John Gill. Not forgetting John Gill was the boyhood friend of David Binns (1799-1883). Would the Wellcome Library have any record of John Burton the surgeon? Best wishes to you and to our new List.
