    3. don't everyone jump on her at once <grin> but Liz Butler is the one I'm in contact with to get the Quaker cd's-she's a liazon, though, not the person who's actually doing this. note: Margaret Page emailed me and mentioned the Essex cd won't be ready until this summer...being the third production completion date change that I'm aware of, I'm not swearing to this date. we will just have to be patient.... I hope I'm not out of line for posting her eddress as she is the link at this time to the Quaker cd's for all of England... lizh_butler@hotmail.com the completed cd's are for Suffolk, Norfolk and Norwich, they're completeing the Essex cd and are working on the London and Middlesex cd's...that will take some time. I've seen the London, Middlesex and Surrey meeting records, and they are extensive. lots of work to finish them! Cornelia Medford, Oregon, USA

    3. Could someone please explain a little more about these CDs? I assume they are meeting records for each county - does this include the different types of meetings? Including the certificates of removal or good standing that were obtained to transfer to another meeting? Everything available? Do they start at the beginning and go up until when??? I have spent a lot of time reading these records on microfilm and this sounds like a wonderful idea. 3. Cornelia, You only have me to blame for the Essex CD not getting out faster. I have to fit the checking of the CD, label and insert creation, packaging, and production in with Membership and Distribution responsibilities along with family and work. Howard is the co-ordinator getting the data entered and checked and sorting out the CD contents. Liz has been one of a handful of people helping with this, all volunteers. Unfortunately for you the data is transcribed and not photocopies of the originals. Photocopies were considered but there are various issues not so far resolved to enable this. We are more than happy for others to join the project. There are lots more Quarterly Meetings to do It seems that you have loads of experience and any help would be much appreciated. That should not put off the less experienced from joining in! 3. I would like to assist, but I doubt if it would be feasible for someone living in northeastern Ohio could be useful. But I would like to request to be placed on a list (if you have one) for those interesting in purchasing the Essex CD when it is completed. Thank you for volunteering your services. 3. Thanks for the offer. Howard is the best to advise on how best to help. Do you live in Britain. If not, what you can do to help may be limited or need thinking round. If you do live in Britain are you able to easily travel to central London? 3. I do understand, Margaret. I hope my comments weren't taken harshly. I wasn't complaining, just stating my experience and that we'd have to be patient. I regret that the cd's aren't scans of the originals. I'd like another chance to look for John Freeman's and Susannah Rayner's marriage intention, but that won't be possible without the actual records. I cannot possibly afford to order all the records again...not to mention the trouble I have with the fhc in my new hometown...maybe some day. I'm in Oregon, U.S.A., so I can't be of much help, I'm afraid, unless something specific can be done by Americans. I'm familiar with the digests and the original documents, having two large Quaker branches in my tree-the Cross's of Woodbridge, Colchester and onwards, and the Harris's of Fordingbridge, later of London, Middlesex and Surrey. I've spent many years gathering members to my tree in and out of the faith. I'm not finished, and it grows a little every month thanks to various websites and frequent research by me and a number of other researchers. those areas have received my most intense research, but individuals have wandered many different directions, though most of those are members who left the faith. regards, Cornelia -- Norton Antivirus protected ----- Original Message ----- From: "J Margaret Page" <pagekidder@hotmail.com> To: <QUAKER-BRITISH-ISLES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 27, 2006 12:01 PM Subject: Re: [Q-B-I] Quaker cd's > Cornelia, > You only have me to blame for the Essex CD not getting out faster.
