    3. Sherbrooke has both a public library and a history library. I found the personnel at both to be very helpful, speaking limited English, but very understandable to this American. I have been told that the best resources are in the Montreal Library although I have not been there yet myself. Also, if you are searching French-Canadians, the ACGS (American Canadian Genealogical Society) in Manchester NH is one of the best places to visit. Check their web site http:www.acgs.org/ for hours of operation since it is staffed by volunteers.
