This might pass as just a bit of humor, however, it has it's serious side. I have noticed several inquiries about the name Maharg and at first I couldn't remember why this name seemed familiar. Several years ago, my husband and I were on our way to Newfoundland and stayed overnite at a campground someplace in Nova Scotia. The gentleman in the next campsite turned out to be the Editor of the local newspaper and he told us about an employee who used the name Maharg. At some point, this employee chose to break off relations with his family and even changed his name. It is interesting that he didn't completely divorce his name; he just spelled it backwards. Maharg spelled "frontwards" spells Graham. As I am very interested in Genealogy, I couldn't help but appreciate the puzzle this could pose to a researcher. Needless to say, whenever I come across an unusual name, I try spelling it backwards. Happy hunting, janethh@mcn.net
