Searching for information on families of David Kennison/Mary Allard and Holloway Kenney/Lucy Williams. David and Mary were married 27 Oct 1823 in West Shefford. Looking for confirmation of births of children: Drusilla, 15 Nov 1824 (?) Levi, 24 May 1824/26 (?) Nathan, 1827/1828 Mary E. 5/25 Mar 1830 Jonathan, Dec 1832 James 2 Feb 1835 Henry, 15 May 1836 Sarah Jane, 27 Jun 1838 Miriam Roxana, 2 Nov 1840/41 Drusilla is the one that really interests me. She was married 18 Jan 1842 in Stukely to Frederick H. Kenny; however, she was listed as Drusilla Bigford Cutler. Family has been traced into the United States, and we are positive (95%) that they are the same person, but why the discrepancy in name. Was she adopted by David & Mary? Was she a ward? Holloway (Halloway) Kenny was born 18 Feb 1781 in Newfane, VT and he married Lucy Williams about 1805. They had at least 5 children in Vermont before moving to Canada about 1818, and I know of at least one more child born there -- the above Frederick H about 1819. Need proof of this birth. Question: Did protestant marriages require a legal contract as catholic ones did? If so, how do I go about locating the pertinent records? Thanks for the help. Margie
