Also glad to report thast his health is very much improved. Mr Telleste Surprenant, an old resident of this place has left here to try his luck in the States. The young people of this place & Clarenceville are giving a dance @ Isle Aux Noix on Fri. evening of this week & they expect lots of fun as the tickets are only $1.25 a couple for boat ride, oyster supper & music. Iberville: The young ladies of the English speaking families of Iberville are not all gone yet, but the number is gradually growing smaller. On Sat - 21st inst - Miss E Inez McGinnis, 2nd dau/o Wm McGinnis Esq took her departure from our midst as the bride of one of Knowlton's young farmers, Mr Ernest L Eldridge s/o Wm T Eldridge of Knowlton. The presents she received from numerous friends testified to the esteem & affection in which the young lady was held among us; all of whom with others unite in wishing her & her husband much happiness in their new home. Funeral was held @ Danville on arrival of noon train. W E Jones, JP - on Tues fined Daniel Sullivan of Melbourne for striking Mrs Aaron Smith with a stick of wood.... Knowlton: Mason Bullard has left at this office, a turnip which weighs 16 lbs. The repairs we believe cost $300. Adamsville Grist Mill formerly owned by George Adams has been purchased by John Massie Sr .
