    3. I have been looking for copies of various land grants in the area that contain references to either Schoolcraft's or Boomhower's. Would it be possible for you to check if any of those names appear in the land grants and if so to let me know the title of the document. I have some documents already so a title would help determine if you have one I'm not yet familiar with or not. I believe I probably already have the list of those that took the oath at Missisquoi Bay that you refer to. My copy runs to four pages and lists where they currently are and where they intend to settle. Its dated between April 26 and July 25, 1795. First name on my list is Benjamin Towner from St. Armand intending to settle in Dunham. Other documents that I have (in case they would help you) are: A March 1795 letter from Henry Caldwell, the list of Associates and statement of recommendation, April 1795 response by the Land Committee, and January 1796 letter from Henry Caldwell. I also have a document that shows that one person took the oath in 1805. A further two pages list other individuals who also took the oath, but is undated. A modern annotation indicates these people took the oath sometime between 1795 and 1806. This entire list was attached to a schedule of applicants for Crown and Clergy land reserves. That schedule contains dates of applications during 1801. > -----Original Message----- > From: R Shogan [mailto:angiebob@shol.com] > Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2000 2:27 PM > To: QC-ETANGLO-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [QC-ETANGLO] Seigniories > > > I have recently received several land grants in which my 5th > great grandfather and two of his sons applied for in the > 1780's and 1790's.
