I was given the quote " On page 15 of the Annals of Anglo Protestants of Megantic County it mentions "...the land camped on was for many years owned by James Johnston and his family and is now owned by his grand daughter Miss Dalgleish, East Boston, Mass." Could anyone do a lookup and tell me WHAT land the start of this sentence referes to?? On page 141, it mentions that James Johnston had children: Mary, William, James and Ellen. No mention of Isabella as a daughter. There are other references to James Johnston and his children in the Annals. I am almost certain that Isabella must be a daughter of James Johnston. There were three other Johnston siblings living in that same area at that time... Thomas Johnston, Isaac Johnston and Margaret Johnston (Mrs. William MacDonald). These three were siblings from the Orkney Islands and emigrated in the 1830's and 1840's. I am descended from Thomas Johnston. This family of Johnstons was not related to the James Johnston. There was also a family of Johnson's (no 't') living in Inverness Township at that time. I am searching this James Johnston Sr's family that is related to DALGLEISH. Thanks Julia
