Hi 'List Folk', there is a kind soul who will do land deed look-ups, her name is Ginette and she is completely bilingual. I have received several deeds and morgages myself and have to say they are a great boon to my research. You do have to know the County, township, range and lot # before asking her to undertake the search for you. Her charges are extremely fair, $35 Canadian and $25 U.S. Ginette will photo copy the relevent pages from the registers in the Victoriaville land deeds office and mail them to you. If you require translations for the smattering of French legal terms that may be in the deeds, no problem. The deeds I have received so far have been between 1 page for a mortage paper, and 5 pages for the regular deeds.
