That time frame mentioned below for BMD is the responsibility of Quebec National Archives and "all" these records are on microfilm. Now if your BMD is Roman Catholic, the record is usually quite good. Protestants records are moderately good for Chruch of England and decreasing quality to non-existant for others ie Baptist , Methodist etc. Local courthouses do not provide this service, its not their responsibility and are not staffed for this.
