I am seeking a birth and/or marriage record for Benjamin Place, born 10 Sept 1809, in Potton or Bolton, PQ. He put down both places on various records but it is most possible he was born in Potton. On the marriage application for his 2nd marriage to Sarah (Sally) Magoon Chase he gave his parents names as Stephen Place and Polly Camber. I need a birth record to give credence to this information. Also I am interested in finding a record of his 1st marriage with approximate date 1828-1830. This 1st marriage was to Phebe Judd, dau of Jule(n) Judd and Catherine Sisco. I am trying to establish the identity of Benjamin Place's father beyond the name Stephen Place. I have checked out many Stephen Place's and none seem to be a candidate. I would be interested in learning who the mother of the children one Stephen Place, widower of Bolton, had at the time he married in 1834, Hannah Magoon Randall, a widow, also of Bolton. Benjamin Place and Phebe Judd had the following children. James Anderson Place, born 1831, married Electa Ann Magoon Catherine Place, born 1835, married Theodore Nutting Mary Place, born 1837 (have not found anything about her) Benjamin F Place, born 1839, married Laura Ann Clough Sabrina Abbie Place, born 1842, married George Ramsdell Guy Butler Place, born 1845, married Salina Baraw Judson Amos Place, born 1848, married Elenor Hunter Stephen J Place, born 1850, married Alice Garvin Clarisa (Clara), born 1854, married Oscar Nutting Mary Ann Place, born 1856, married John Sweet Samuel Place, born 1860, (have nothing on this person) Anyone with knowledge of any of the individuals I have mentioned I want to hear from you, PLEASE! Further, I need the address and directives on obtaining birth and marriage records for persons born/married in Brome and Stanstead Counties.
