If anyone has the book................. "A Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada Before Confederation - Volume 1", by Donald White. ENTRY SHOWS "John Aird b 20 Nov 1817. From Kirkmichael, AYR. s/o William A, qv, and Mary Hunter, qv. To QUE on the "George Cannon", 1829. m (ii) Mary McIntyre Thom. [ DC 15 Jul 1979]" Page 2, #32. The info in square brackets is the author's reference to his source. This one translates as "Dictionary Correspondence. Letters to the author regarding emigrants to Canada, contained in 9 lever-arch files." So obviously someone wrote a letter to him dated July 15 1979 containing the information that he included. I wonder who it was? Does anyone have that book and could tell me??
