In the book "Alphabetical Index to the LAND GRANTS BY THE CROWN In the Province Of Quebec from 1763 to 31st December 1890", the names of grantees (persons receiving land grants), township, counties, number of acres, deed of letter-patent, Registered-Letter/Page, and page of the printed list are recorded. ie: name of grantees--Anderson, Alex; township--Chatham; counties--Argenteuil; acres--100; date of letters patent--September 19, 1838; registered/letter--S grants..page 483; page of the printed list--26 This index can be purchased from the Quebec Family History Society, P.O. box 1026, Pointe Claire, Quebec, Canada, H9S 4H9 tel(514)695-1502 The whole index cost about 100.00cdn plus shipping....can't remember exact costs. But if you had the exact information from the index, possibly then you could send for the copy of the actual grant of deed. Hoping this will be helpful...... cdeckers@accglobal.net wrote: > Hi Listers, > > I am hoping someone can help me with this.
