Sorry if this is the wrong list but I have not had much luck in finding out the county for Montreal. Does this list apply to Montreal at all? I have subscribed to other Quebec mailing lists so if this is not the right place for Anglos in Montreal after 1900, please let me know. I will put a plug in for my surnames just in case: IMRIE, Alexander & Amelia emigrated from Scotland in 1911 bringing their 12 children from Edinburgh to Montreal. Many stayed there, others moved on, several to California. Amelia died in 1933 and is buried in Mount Royal Cemetery; Alexander died in 1949 in California. MAWHINNEY, Radcliffe & Hannah Eliza came to Montreal in 1905 with several children. They had 7 sons, all of whom served in W.W.I. Two of them died in France. My direct line has no male Mawhinney's left; my great-grandfather had 2 sons and only 1 son had children, all of whom were girls. I believe there might be some Mawhinney's left in Montreal and maybe New York. I would appreciate any information on any of the above people. Thank you Linda Wampach Portland, OR lwampach@portland.quik.com http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~imrie
