    3. Hi Jackie. Yes, those dates are correct. It would be interesting to find out why so long. Were his parents still living in 1893? Not that they would have to be, but he may have been baptized at a different location as an infant and that record was lost. In 1853 many of the more remote areas only had traveling preachers who often did not keep good records or they became lost or what ever. Another avenue for you to search is The Megantic County Historical Society. The contact I have is: Mildred Robinson, President, 3172 route Dublin, Inverness, PQ. G0S 1K0 Phone: 418-485-2247. They have a computerised index of the census 1861-71-81 for Leeds. They also have one for Inverness for 1861 along with the records of children born after 1861. If you the above, you may find that the book I used is available and for sale. If you have a number of families in Megantic County, it might be worth it. Good luck.
