Hi, Deacon John married secondly Sarah GILMAN, daughter of Edward GILMAN and Mary CLARK. The line then follows: Moses LEAVITT m. Dorothy DUDLEY Joseph LEAVITT m. Mary WADLEIGH Nathaniel LEAVITT m. Lydia SANBORN Jeremiah LEAVITT m. Sarah SHANNON Jeremiah LEAVITT m. Sarah STURDEVANT Jeremiah Sr is the first one of the line to move north to the Hatley area. Jeremiah Sr. died in c1817 and in the late 1830s the majority of the family began the trek to Utah. Out of interest on the BEAN family, Nathaniel LEAVITT, son of Jeremiah & Sarah (SHANNON) LEAVITT, married as his second wife, Betsey BEAN (1814-1844). She married him when she was about 15, after his wife Deborah DELANO died. Nathaniel and Betsey went on the journey with the LEAVITT family but returned to Canada after Nathaniel died in 1838 in Missouri. Where she lived or died and is buried is unknown. IIRC, her son was raised by her cousin, Betsey BEAN ABBOTT (another Betsey BEAN!).
