It translates roughly as follows: The 10th of May, 1802, the undersigned having been baptised with ordinary ceremony, born today, Louis, the son of the legitimate marriage of Christophe Chagnon, labourer, and Francoise Martin. The godfather is Gabriel (unclear), labourer, and godmother Marie Thérèse Chagnon who all live in this parish.
