My 3rd great-grandmother was a Johnston; Jane D. Johnston was born on Nov 2, 1828 in Ascot, Québec. She was the daughter of Samuel Johnston and Jennie Breckenridge. Samuel and Jennie emigrated circa 1821 "from the extreme north of Ireland" and "settled in the vicinity of Huntingville," Québec. Jane married Daniel Thompson, widower, on Jan 13, 1846 at the Episcopal Church in Ascot. Jane died on Sep 3, 1920 in Sherbrooke at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was buried on Sep 6, 1920 in St. Peter's Cemetery in Sherbrooke. Children with Daniel Thompson Charlotte Anne Thompson Line continued b. Jan 14, 1847, d. Nov 26, 1926 Louisa Thompson b.
