Ernie..............Ontario...............Canada Dear ERNIE in Ontario, I did some checking today and discovered in the book The History of Compton County that there were many changes going on around the 1840s to 1870s regarding land boundaries and in 1851 the town of Sherbrooke (including Ascot and Orford) was part of Compton County for all purposes except electoral.
