I went to the site of the Quebec National Archives to look at the notorial records which are on microfilm. Unfortunately I am not able to translate from French to English. Can someone advise me how please? I can get the first page to translate but not the rest of the site. Thank you. Joyce
If it is the site I looked at, you will find that there are English pages further in. Most of the pages having substantial text are also provided in English if you just read on a bit farther. For example, read page 9 which has both French and English on the same page. Page 17 is the start of much of the explanation in English. The actual film names are in French but as most of the title is usually names or towns it is not too hard to figure out what they contain. It is possible to download the entire catalog as a pdf file rather than try to read it online. Then, if you open it, the pdf reader allows you to search for names like "Bedford". Pages 124 and 125 list the notaries for Bedford and St. Francis. > -----Original Message----- > From: qc-etanglo-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:qc-etanglo-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of plappin > Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 20:12 > To: qc-etanglo@rootsweb.com > Subject: [QC-ETANGLO] Quebec National Archives > > > I went to the site of the Quebec National Archives to look at the > notorial records which are on microfilm.
