Hello Everyone, I am in Montreal & do not know very much about what is available at the Arhives of Canada. Quebec Province's Archives have some notaries on m/film - but we cannot borrow the films. They must be viewed at the various archives branches that have copies of the m/films. Plus, there are notaries whose records have never been m/filmed. To view them, we must visit the archives branch in Quebec Province that houses the originals. We will then have access to the actual documents If a specific notary's files have been microfilmed, we MUST use the m/film, regardless of how atrocious the handwriting may be.The majority of notary records for the Eastern Twps (if not on microfilm) will be found in Sherbrooke archives.
