    1. Re: [QC-ETANGLO] Quebec not Ontario maps
    2. Mat, Sorry but this is the QEUBEC Eastern townships list :) I honestly could care less about Ontario. Love to visit, but only would be a tourist. My questions was about the Quebec maps. Did someone do the same thing for Quebec. Thanks and sorry for any confusion. Colin Brooks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a message dated 8/2/2007 3:46:45 P.M. They are available at http://digital.library.mcgill.ca/CountyAtlas/default.htm The property owner names are shown and have been indexed by McGill with links to a map, so this site is extremely handy. The maps are a little hard to study on a computer screen but most Ontario libraries have reprints that were done 30 years ago and you can photocopy 8.5 x 14 sections usually. There are introductory texts that are informative and that mention individuals who paid a special fee. 3. Colin My error - after sending my message I realized that it was Quebec you wanted. A careful reading of McGill's home page indicates that 40 atlases were produced, 32 of which covered Ontario, with the 8 others covering Quebec and the Maritimes. I find it odd that McGill does not have anything on-line for Quebec. A Quebec ET researcher sent me copies of an Ascot township map with names on it circa 1863 that appears similar to the Ontario Atlases, so some Quebec library has copies, but I know of nothing on-line. McGill does have the 1864 edition of Map of the counties of Shefford, Iberville, Brome, Missisquoi and Rouville, Canada East .
