George In the front of each Volume, as well as the abbreviations for states/provinces and Religious Denominations, there is a page of Abbreviations for Places and CHARLE is listed for Charleston.     3. Hi Leslie, Yes, that's it. I just tried that, with the dates and names I have, and they were there. Thanks very much. I did not know about the earlier name for Hatley.
