    3. Hello, I just wanted to mention on this List that I started a new List in February - called CAN-USA-MIGRATION Please feel free to post your "researched surnames" on the List. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S. My ancestors lived in Compton County around the 1860's - just before the KERR family moved to Boston, MA. Their parents had arrived in Argenteuil County in the 1820's. My great-great-grandparents were Robert and Elizabeth (HENDERSON) KERR, and they had 5 children. The oldest, William KERR, and one of their daughters, came down to MA in 1870's, and they and their youngest sons came down in 1880's. (I haven't been able to find out what hapened to their other daughter.) For Genealogy researchers, please remember to check the archives of the Lists & Boards for both your surnames and place-names.

    3. My HARTWELL ancestors lived and are buried in Compton. My ELLIS ancestors lived in Coaticook. My ancestor Jonathan HARTWELL moved to Compton from the Indian Stream Republic during the border troubles in the 1830's. I am searching for my ancestors Mary HARTWELL and EC (Ephraim) ELLIS.
