    1. Fw: Info on Marieville around 1800

    3. Greetings; I am new to this list, and have joined because my search for family ancestors has taken me to the area east of Montreal between the years of 1790 and 1810. I have a pretty good handle on my family up to 1790, when they were in South Hero, Grand Isle County, Vermont. They turn up again in Champlain, Clinton County, New York on the 1810 census there. Between those two dates I can't find anything for them south of the border. My ancestor's name was Johann Michael KASTLER (Kasler, Casler, Kisler, Kesler, Castle, etc.) and he was a hessian soldier during the American Revolution. After the war he settled in the Lake Champlain region. There are references to him living in Canada but the only specific thing that I have is his son Abram KASLER being born in July of 1806 near Marieville. There is the posibility that there was another son named Peter who was born in 1801. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could find old records from the Marieville area between 1790 and 1810? If I need to hire a researcher to do some digging for me, could anyone refer me to someone??? I have a lot of info on the old family south of the border, but very little north. I appreciate any assistance that you could offer. Thanks!!! Michael Kasler
