JC Ellis - Waterloo's oldest citizen was recently dangerously ill but rallied subsequently to the gratification of many friends. The new Catholic Curch of Barford was dedicated last week by Bishop LaRocque. The new edifice is of Hereford granite & cost $10,000. Mrs Eugene Ruiter of Waterloo fractured one of her legs above the ankle in getting off a car too hurredly a few days ago but through prompt treatment & careful nursing she is now doing well. The salaries of all trainmen on the Canada Atlantic System have been raised about 10% & additional privileges have been extended to them. And all the local men are smiling now. Dr JW McDuffee, an old practitioner of Stanstead died last week from a paralytic stroke. ....... +++++++++++++++++++++ Beebe Plain CC Beebe, who was thrown from his waggon & thought to be very seriously injured is now himself again & driving around as usual. Chas Whitcher has returned from Goddard's Seminary - Barrie Vt . The school being closed for the present on account of an outbreak of Typhoid Fever Potato crop in this vicinity is the best in many years. Several report getting 400 bushels to the acre.
