Penny Thank you so much for your response to my query. My ancestors arrived from Scotland in 1867 briefly settling in Compton County. They bought property at 1244 Spooner Pond Road on which the original house still stands although not occupied by KERRs. There were 10 children (plus 2) in this KERR family and although we have three lines searched up to today, we are still hoping to locate the others. Some never married, some migrated to the U.S., and others spread throughout Canada. If I have my directions correct Richmond is west of Sherbrooke. There are many cousins still in the area and this summer I will be visiting and searching the Eastern Townships for dead people as well as their descendants.
