Could someone give me some information on David Place who is on page 4 and 5 of "History of Brome County Quebec" by Rev Ernest M. Taylor vol. 1 1908 reprinted 1998. Page 4 states Captain David Place in Brome Dec 1786, was in Col James Reed's regiment. And on page 5 he is mentioned again as a soldier from NH. Can anyone tell me who the parents of David Place may be? Or any of his siblings, etc., also, in the same book there is mentioned on page 143-44, Aylmer Place was mayor of East Bolton in 1878 and again in 1881. I would appreciate learning about this individuals Place family. I am trying to find the family of my great-great grandfather Benjamin Place who was born 10 Sept 1809, in either Potton or Bolton. I have not been able to locate any records to give proof of his parents or siblings. I believe his mother was Polly Camber and his father Stephen Place, but it could have been another Benjamin Place. If the above stated persons have any connection with this Place family I would be most grateful if it would be shared. Sincerely, Marlene Prouty-Domstead
