    3. Hi Listers - have had such great response to my query of MacIvers in Lac Megantic. No problem solved yet but think I should have been more specific when I originally went on the list for help. The area my folks were in was Lac Megantic not Megantic, I am trying to find a birth record for my grandmother and her twin sister, dob May 5, 1876. Apparently they do not appear in the book "Anglo Protestants of Megantic County 1826-1801" vitals. They are Christie and Katie MacIver, twin daughters of John "west" and his wife Cathering Morrison MacIver. John and his wife Catherine were both born in Quebec, Scotstown/Marston/Sherbrooke area. They disappear from the census after 1881 as they moved their family to North Dakota for some 12 years, then again uprooted and went up to Saskatchewan where they settled, children married, raised families and died there. The 1881 census of Lac Megantic, Compton Cty. #54 entries 19 and 20 show them with their children but minus the twin Katie and also a son John, must have been away somewhere for the day of the census. Most of the MacIvers of my line are buried in Echo Vale, Gould, and Gisla Cemeteries. As I said, I received great response and have some addresses now to write to other than the Thetford Mines address. Thanks so much List! Any other advice would be appreciated as well now that I have pinned down the area better?
