Still searching for information on these families, though I haven't been actively researching them for the past couple of years: SEARS - Caldwell Manor, Sutton areas - from 1780s. The family came up from Bennington County, Vermont, and were from Massachusetts originally NICHOLS - Caldwell Manor - from late 1790s. They came from Rhode Island - with a likely pathway which led through the Stephentown, NY area. John Nichols was married to Susannah CLARKE. Susannah had a sister Katherine who was married to Reuben COREY who died in Stanbridge in 1824. VANVOLKINGBURG - Caldwell Manor. John (1802), Lavina (1805) and David (1810) Vanvolkingburg were born in Quebec. Lavina married Hezekiah SEARS in the Caldwell Manor area sometime around 1825, and David married Lucy MILLER there around maybe around 1830/31 or so. I have never been able to make a definite connection for Lucy to the MILLER family of the area, nor make any connection for Lavina, John, and David VANVOLKINGBURG to the VANVALKENBURGH family that lived close. COOK - Jasper COOK married Sarah MILLS, and their family had ties to NICHOLS. Joseph NICHOLS from Caldwell Manor married Annah SLOCUM, and one of their daughters married John Phillip COOK. I am very interested in some of the activities Jasper and Joseph may have been involved in, as well as family lineages.. Many other families, but these are the main ones at the moment. Have been enjoying this roll call! Diane Sears Brigode
