    3. Hi Geoff, My ancestors, Robert and Elizabeth (HENDERSON) KERR, were living in New Port, Compton County, just before they came down to Massachusetts. I have seen at least one reference to the town being spelled, New Port, rather than Newport, so that is perhaps why you are having trouble finding information. FYI .. from LDS web site www.familysearch.org Census Place New Port, Compton, Quebec Family History Library Film 1375835 NA Film Number C-13199 District 54 Sub-district U Division 1 Page Number 16 Household Number 75 The above is on the page for my ancestors in 1881 Census: Robert KERR M Male Irish 55 Quebec Farmer Weslyan Methodist Eliza KERR M Female Irish 55 Quebec Weslyan Methodist Robert KERR Male Irish 18 Quebec Weslyan Methodist Joseph KERR Male Irish 14 Quebec Weslyan Methodist They seemingly migrated down to New England in the late 1880's or early 1890's. By the way, I would like to find out whether their teen-age sons had already married by the time they came down to Everett, MA, USA. I tend to think that they were already married or they had girlfriends / fiance's who traveled down to Massachusetts with them. Shortly after 1900, both Robert and Joseph KERR left Everett, MA, to migrate to Everett, WA ... and they traveled with their wives. (I know the wives' first names, but not their maiden names. I also know that neither couple had children.)
