I am looking for the parents and siblings of EBENEZER GROAT. He was born about 1800 and married Rhoda Stone daughter of Simon Stone and Anna Schoolcraft. I have found all of their children but cannot get beyond Ebenezer to trace the family. He lists himself as Eng/Can on census records and I believe they were Baptist. There are other Groat researchers but we cannot seem to connect our families. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a marriage certificate for Ebenezer and Rhoda or any birth certificates for their children-the oldest was born ca 1832. The Groat family probably came from the Standbridge Township area and the Stone family from Sutton. I would be interested in visiting with anyone from or familiar with the Quebec town of Bedford which is near the VT boarder. I live in WI on the Mississippi River.
