I am interested in the family of Archibald White of Danville, Quebec. According to the 1861 census, he was 66 years old and a member of the Church of Scotland. By profession, he was a weaver but is described as a pensioner in the census. In the 1871 census, Archibald is 76 years of age and is said to have been born in Scotland. He died May 2, 1872 in Danville and was buried from the Congregational Church, Danville. Archibald's wife, Elizabeth Kennedy, according to the 1861 census was 31 years old and born in Ireland. She died February 28, 1869 aged 40 at death, and was buried from Ste. Anne's Church, Danville. The above couple had at least 6 children I know of. They are Elizabeth b. ca 1856/57, Catherine Alice 1859, Ellen 1860, Edward 1862, Josephine 1864, and Hannah 1869. All the children except Elizabeth and Hannah were baptized at Ste. Bibiane's in Richmond. Hannah was baptized November 1, 1869 in the Congregational Church in Danville and was adopted by Robert Bell and his wife Isabelle ____. I would like to know the parentage of Archibald White and Elizabeth Kennedy, their marriage details, the birth details of their daughter Elizabeth b. ca. 1856/57, and any information concerning their children Elizabeth, Edward, Josephine, and especially Hannah. Where did the children go and what became of Hannah and her adoptive parents? Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you. From snowy Montreal.
