    3. In reading over an 1842 deed that I received of my ancestor, John Leith of Inverness, I saw a reference to John Wilton, the seller of the land, as a former Lieutenant in the Royal West Militia. Does anyone have any knowledge of what that refers to? Would it be a unit siding with the British in the Rebellion of 1837? In another deed (1846), John Leith is referred to as "Yeoman and pensioner late of the Farm an nough Regiment of Militia of the one part?" Does this make sense to anyone? What does "Farm an nough" mean? I appeciate any help anyone can offer on this latest puzzle! Georgia
