> Don't know how long it will last but will enjoy it while I can. In case some here are not aware that even if it stops being free on the Ancestry website that does not mean you won't be able to see the census pages online again - the 1851 census is and has been online and viewable for everyone for free for quite a few months on the Library & Archives website at: http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/1851/index-e.html (no account needed) The only difference is through the Ancestry website it is searchable by name where on the archives website it is searchable by location and not by name. So if in a little while it stops being free through the ancestry website you still will be able to view the census pages on the Library & Archives website - you'll just have to do it the hard way by area and then page by page and no surname search. I am sure everyone here knows about it being online on the Archives website for a few months but thought I would mention it in case that's news to some. On a personal note access I was searching it last night and was extremely thrilled to have found my 3rd great grandmother who died in 1855. I knew before her death she was married to someone else other than my 3rd great grandfather and new his name but I had no idea where in Ontario she was living or was it possible she went back to Quebec? I have looked through a few pages on the Archives website a few months back but not knowing the area she was in was like a needle in a hay stack. So last night I searched by her husband's name and found her instantly. All these years of wondering I found her in a few minutes last night thanks to the index. Wow!!!! This really is so exciting.
