Imagine my surprise when I checked out the new databases recently added at Ancestry. It looks like an every name index as well, when you put in a surname. However...it is the only database that says free, so I am wondering if it is for a limited time only, and then it will be for Ancestry.ca only. Barbara Poole What is the web address please. Thanks. They have a separate subscription plan that includes all records they have for Canada. I have the US membership so I can't access those census records. I think that one is another $120 or so. This may force my hand eventually - haven't had much push for their records up to this point since 1881, 1901 and 1911 are available elsewhere. But I know I missed some branches when I did my first transcriptions of the 1851 census many years ago. --Pam Barbara Poole <computerize2004@yahoo.com> wrote: I believe you have to be a subscriber to www.ancestry.com but I am not sure. Hi Pam, To clarify, I have the U.S. version, pretty much the basic one. The person who wrote about it lives in NY. I agree, I am not sure about the Canadian version, but you should be able to get the 1851 census. That is why I wrote about it, because I was so excited. Just go to new databases. Hi from Lowell.
