Is there anyone on this list that has a family connection with Joseph Kelly who married Sophia Decker? Either with the Kelly or Decker families? I need some help, please. Their children were: Abraham D. b. 1812 in Philipsburg Lucretia b. 1814 Sophia b. 1816 Joseph b. 1818 Philipsburg Lemuel b.? d. 1827 Philipsburg Wm. Nelson b. 1833 St. Armand Joseph Lawrence b. 1835 Stanbridge Catherine Pamela b. 1837 I have been told that they had another son, Martin Washman Kelly, who was born in 1821 but I have not been able to find any church record to prove it. He and Sarah Maria Blakely were my ggg-grandparents. Sandy Williams
The BICE families in South Stukely seem to be intersecting with the families that I am working on and I could use some guidance if anyone is familiar with this family: In one instance I have an Unknown Bice, b. bef. 1803, wife Elizabeth and children Mary, Uriah, Isaac, Sarah Sophia, George and Freelove. Sarah Sophia Bice marries Alpheus Edgar Schoolcraft and George Bice marries Sarah Jane Mandigo. (Mandigo and Schoolcraft are lines that I am working. I am also aware of a marriage between Freelove Bice and George Norton although that is not of real interest to me. Secondly there is an Abraham Bice b. abt. 1816, wife Susanna and son John. John married Eliza. Abraham is enumerated with Peter Schoolcraft in 1871. Peter married a Jane who was b. abt. 1787 and died a few months before the 1871 enumeration. I'm suspicious that Jane was also a Bice, possibly Abraham's sister. With Unknown, Jane and Abraham being of similar ages and in the same town I am obviously suspicious that they may be siblings. Has anyone done any research on the BICE family that could shed light on this? As always, pointers to the sources would be welcome.
David Ellis was so very kind to send me another transcription for the archives on Alburg, VT records. I have been tied up for a few weeks, but finally got it uploaded. Please visit the Archives on the web site and see if anything is of interest! http://www.rootsweb.com/~qceastwn/archives.html You will find this file, from FHC US/CAN film #27771 marked with a "new" icon under Original Transcripts. THis can also be ordered directly from any local FHC library. Thanks, David, for your continuing support in helping everyone in their search!!! --Pam

Hi Everyone: I've been stumped for a while on what became of James LEWIS born about 1836, Ireland, and lived in the Shefford area. He m. 1st Rebecca CONNOLLY and had children James, Minnie and twins (or a transcription error!) Wilson and William, born 1867-1870. Rebecca died in 1870 and James married 2nd Mary Ann (Booth) Jones, Cowansville, Quebec, 20 April 1871, daughter of Thomas BOOTH and Catherine TAYLOR. Mary Ann had married first William H. JONES and they had children: Eliza, Dorothy, Thomas, John, Catherine, and William, born 1850-1860. James and Mary Ann are mentioned in their nephew William E. Booth's 1877-78 diary and were living in the Shefford area. They are listed in the 1881 census, still living in Shefford. I cannot find them in the 1901 and 1911 census. I also do not find a listing of their being buried in Shefford Co. in Neil Broadhurst's cemetery books. Does anyone else descend from these families or have a suggestion on where else I should look? I have looked at Ontario and US census records also, but with Lewis being such a common name I haven't had any luck. Any advice appreciated! Thank you, Chris Chirokas

Hello, I have a marriage date for George Weston BEARD & Mary GILLIES, 3 Jun 1874, Eaton, Compton County, Quebec. The LDS film for the marriages for this time period is not listed. If someone would be going to Bishop's, I would LOVE to have a photocopy of this, please. I'm hoping the detail included will provide a link back to the fathers. I'm trying to do all this properly, and not just take the detail from online as fact! Thanks for any help. Karen
My husband Ned helps me with my family history and so either one of us may send emails. I appreciate you answering my query. We believe Samuel Johnson was of Stanbridge, but is buried in Dunham. (Someone just answered and said that Samuel was buried by his wife Sarah in the Bates cemetery.) Right now we know the following children: Layfayette, b 1830, of Stanbridge, md, Mary Williams, Lemuel, b 1833, Sutton, md Altha Marcia Smead, Seneca Paige, b 1836, Dunham, md Anne Marie Wilson, Climena , b 1843, of Stanbridge, md James Bates. We feel Samuel was born in Vermont and more than likely a loyalist. We are putting together a lot of the Bates family also. Thanks for any help. Have you tried the Marlene Simmons site ? She has two records on John Nason. Census and church. Her e-mail is : simmons@endirect.qc. Gwen Don't judge folks by their relatives.
I hope this is considered "Anglo". John NASON fought in the Civil War for Vermont. He lived in Troy, VT. The U.S. census says he was born in New York. John was married to Henriette/Harriet Lavoy/Lavoie/Leroy. From the registers of the Methodist Church , Bolton, 1849 - "John Nason yeoman and Harrret Leroy spinster both of Poten was maried by the publication of banns September the sixteenth one thousan eight hundred and forty nine by me (signed) Isaac Blake (signed) John Nason Harret Leroy Sophi Leroy Leuis Leroy Obviously, there are many spelling errors. One being the name of the place "Poten" which should have been Potton. This is John's obit: "John NASON, father of John NASON, Jr., of this village, died in Bolton, Q., last Thursday. He was formerly a resident of this place, and enlisted in company D, Sixth Vermont regiment from here in October, 1861, and served well in the ranks, until the discharge of the regiment in July 1865." [Date of Death would be, Thursday, 9 October 1879] Death Information: Source: "North Troy Palladium" newspaper dated 16 October 1879, North Troy, Orleans Co., Vermont. Does anyone know where I might find the death record for John Nason--in Bolton? Trying to find his burial/parents, and any other information. Thank you for any help with this famly. --------------------------------- Access over 1 million songs - Yahoo! Music Unlimited.

Hi Ned, In the Bates cemetery in Dunham, both Sarah and Samuel are listed there. BATES, Sarah d. Feb. 21, 1865 ae. 64 yrs. wife of Samuel Johnson JOHNSON, Samuel (stone not found) husband of Sarah Bates In the past I have corresponded with a Gilles Paquette who was doing extensive research on a Samuel King Johnson. Perhaps you could drop him a line to see if during his searches found anything on your Samuel Johnson. His email is: gillespq@total.net. Another person I dealt with who was researching the Bates family was an Arlene Ellis. If you would like her address, please email me and I will give it to you. Bonnie, are you aware of this document, which shows Freeborn's parents? Sylvia Conklin, widow, was one of those entering into a bond of Arbitrament. Apparently they were all children of Peleg Johnson and his wife Abigail Parker. The others were Layton Johnson of Stanbridge, Peleg and Ira Johnson, both of St. Armand, Katharine Gage, and Freeborn Johnson.
