    1. [QC-ETANGLO] re Maharg
    2. Janet Hodder
    3. This might pass as just a bit of humor, however, it has it's serious side. I have noticed several inquiries about the name Maharg and at first I couldn't remember why this name seemed familiar. Several years ago, my husband and I were on our way to Newfoundland and stayed overnite at a campground someplace in Nova Scotia. The gentleman in the next campsite turned out to be the Editor of the local newspaper and he told us about an employee who used the name Maharg. At some point, this employee chose to break off relations with his family and even changed his name. It is interesting that he didn't completely divorce his name; he just spelled it backwards. Maharg spelled "frontwards" spells Graham. As I am very interested in Genealogy, I couldn't help but appreciate the puzzle this could pose to a researcher. Needless to say, whenever I come across an unusual name, I try spelling it backwards. Happy hunting, janethh@mcn.net

    1. [QC-ETANGLO] RICHARDSON Family of South Stukely
    2. Susan Jones
    3. Hi List, I have searched just about everywhere and cannot come across a piece of document that shows the relationship between a son and his parents. Calvin Richardson and Nancy Streeter Richardson were married in Richmond, NH and shortly there after, bought some property and moved to South Stukely, Shefford, Quebec. The had at least one child, William Russel Richardson. He was born in 1833/34. I have William's marriage document to Charlotte Todd in 1853, which states he was 21 years old, but it does not give the parents of either bride or groom. It states that both were born in Canada. Several years after the marriage of William and Charlotte, they moved to Wolcott, Lamoille, VT with several young children. William's mother died in South Stukely in 1866. I have her death document. Calvin eventually moved to VT to live with his son. I am looking for any kind of document that would link William with Calvin and Nancy Richardson and also any other Richardsons that were born in South Stukely. I will pay for all documents, copying, postage, etc. I am handicapped and do not drive so I cannot get to the FHC in my area very often. All help in this matter would be extremely appreciated.
