Dear Researchers: We have alll been given a wonderful opportunity by Rootsweb. We can have free web space on the WWW on the Rootsweb server to post items such as queries, wills, deeds, census records, cemetery records, marriage records, etc. If no one else wants the job, I am willing to coordinate these pages. But there is one requirement. The person who requests the web space on a particular surname needs to be a Rootsweb Sponsor. Depending how much you sponsor Rootsweb determines how many surname pages you can sponsor. I believe the ratio is: $12.00 to sponsor one surname page. $25.00 would sponsor 2 surname pages. $50.00 for 4 surnames. $100.00 for 8 surnames. I'm assuming that someone on the list is a Rootsweb sponsor. If so, let me know, and I will submit your name as the sponsor, and see if they will allow me to still be the coordinator of the page. Or, if you would rather, you may contact Rootsweb yourself about this, and you could be the sponsor. If you are already a Rootsweb Sponsor, then they will accept your previous donation. I assume this means that whoever contacts them first can be in charge of a certain surname. Although, they also say they do not have enough available web space for every single surname yet. So we need to jump on this opportunity. Several family surname pages are already on the Rootsweb server. I am the list manager for quite a few different surname lists with Rootsweb. I cannot financially afford to sponsor a web page for each of the surnames I am working with. So I'm counting on someone else who is a Rootsweb Sponsor to assist in this way.
