I've had a few replies to my offer to post the PYLES obits I'm clearing off my harddrive. So I'll go ahead and do it. They will have the subject line PYLES obits just like this message so you can set up your filters, and they will be posted ONLY ONCE! As I send them to this list, I delete them. The name and location of the paper carrying them, and the date of publication will be included if I've got these facts. They may have appeared more than just once in their respective papers. These do not represent ALL PYLES obits from ALL papers. They are from papers indexed by volunteers for Obituary Daily Times. Then, just the ones that I chose because I thought they fit name or location I've been researching, or just picked at random. Check out Obituary Daily Times. http://www.best.com/~shuntsbe/obituary/ http://www.best.com/~shuntsbe/obituary/search.cgi Ensure your local paper is being indexed. Volunteer contributors get the magic codename list with volunteers' e-mail addresses, and a daily index list of over a thousand obituaries. Contributors can get the full text of the obits they request from each other, and they are much more up-to-date than the general search list, which anyone can use for free. I know of some contributors who get a photocopied list from archived papers at their library, then index them. Linda
