Dave; The parents of John Pyle Sr. were Samuel Pyle and Sarah( name unclear). Samuel was born on the 21st of December 1700 and was the son of Nicholas Pyle born around the year 1666 who came to America in 1683 with his brother Robert. Nicholas was a witness to the will of William Penn around the year 1712 and one of the members of the party that stood under the giant elm tree in 1683 when Penn signed treaties with the Indians. Samuel Pyle was sent back to England to become a physician and was a doctor all his life in Pennsylvania. His second son John also became a doctor and was the famous Dr./Col. John Pyle of Tory fame. I will try to see that I find Samuel's wife's full name for you.
