    2. For some of the newer members who may not be aware of all that the net has to offer, I am re-posting this link. Sara The GNIS mapping system at: http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html will tell you the county, latitude & longitude, and other info for any location (town, cemetery, reservoir, stream, whatever) in the US and it will show you a map of the area with your location pinpointed. Just type in the name you're seeking, the state (use the 2-letter postal code, like VA for Virginia) and click on Send Query. It's extremely useful and even includes some extinct towns. Bookmark it.
