Or what, I will check further. I have meant to get back with a reply to one of your messages, where someone wrote about Howard Pyle and the Chadds Ford aart group. When I visited there at the Brandywine museum, they ahve works displayed of Howard Pyle and his contemporary, N.C. Wyeth. They were both magazine and book illustrators along with others whose names didn't register as not ones I knew. But the illustrations from some of the books were ones I remembered from childhood. The name of Howard Pyle meant nothing to me then. The Wyeth's have made the Chadds Ford area very famous with Andrew getting such recognition. There are those who say Andrew's work is really still in the illustration mode, but at the sums he gets I don't think that's but a minority. His paintings are in every major museum and gallery also. The grandson of N.C., Jamie is my favorite of the group, love his work. Chadds Ford is a lovely area to visit, the museum stands off the road along the Brandywine creek [river, not sure how its called] and worth a visit. The Rev War battle of Brandywine has a park to commemorate it, and Valley Forge is not that many miles away. All just west of Philadelphia and in the Delaware county area where the Pyles were. If my family connection , to the early Pyles,I am told it is, then there is a connection to the Chadd family for me.. I have a little map of the land owners in Delaware CO, but don't have a date. Those early brothers were close in distance, with their properties. Currently I am entering my Pyle data into my computer program. Just need to start getting it straightened out so can research in a meaningful manner. Too many bits and pieces.
